On Wednesday morning, low temperature warnings are in effect in most of Slovakia. In western Slovakia it is necessary expect fog with visibility of 50 to 200 meters. This is pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued warnings of the first and second degree. He informs about it on his website.

Level 2 warnings against low temperatures apply to most districts of the Prešov region. The temperature there can sometimes reach -20 to -21 degrees Celsius. Level one warnings apply to the entire Košice, Banskobystrický and Žilina regions, several districts of the Prešovský region and the districts of Ilava, Považská Bystrica, Púchov and Levice. The temperature there can sometimes reach -15 to -19 degrees Celsius.

“Low temperature poses a potential hazard to human health and outdoor physical activities,” reminds SHMÚ. Fog warnings apply to the entire Bratislava and Trnava regions and several districts of the Nitra and Trenčianske regions. “Reduced visibility poses a potential hazard to traffic activities,” notes SHMÚ.
