Woman pretends to order pizza to escape domestic violence in RS

A 39-year-old woman managed to escape a domestic violence situation by simulating a pizza order during a call to phone 153, from the GCM (Municipal Civil Guard) of Bento Gonçalves (RS), on Monday afternoon (19). THE action resulted in the rescue of the victim and the arrest of the attackeraged 42, in an incident covered by the Maria da Penha Law.

According to GCM, the call center received a call considered unusual, in which the woman requested delivery of a pizza to a specific address. During the conversation, the agent responsible for the service noticed that the applicant was nervous and answered the questions restrainedly, which raised the suspicion that it was a disguised distress call.

Given the situation, the The attendant adopted a protocol to confirm the risk without exposing the victim and, in one of the questions, mentioned the possibility of “ordering four cheeses if the attacker was armed”. The implicit confirmation led to the immediate activation of the Municipal Civil Guard teams.

At the address provided, the agents found the woman in a risk situation and confirmed that she had been suffering attacks from her partner. The suspect was approached and arrested in the act, being taken to the for legal procedures.

The victim received care and was directed to support and protection services, as provided for in legislation to combat violence against women.

In a note, the highlighted the importance of attention to detail when dealing with incidents and reinforced that requests for help can occur in different ways, especially in cases of domestic violence, in which the victim is not always able to ask for help directly.
