Three persons, including a well-known left-wing activist, tried to damage Chancellor Merz’s plane at the airport. The Resistance Collective claimed the act as a protest action.

The German police detained three people in the hangar in the west of the country, where the private plane of Chancellor Friedrich Merz is also located, for attempting to damage the plane. TASR informs about this according to Thursday’s report of the DPA agency.

According to the prosecutor’s office, two women and one man aged 23, 28 and 56 tried to damage the plane at night and were detained for trespassing at Arnsberg-Menden airport. The officers’ suspicions were confirmed when the driver asked them for directions to the airport in the area. The man was later identified as a well-known left-wing activist. The police focused on the airport, where Merz’s plane is also located, and detained three people on the spot.
