Federal deputy Bia Kicis (-DF) stated that the senator’s (PL-RJ) pre-candidacy for the Presidency shows how the former president (PL) continues to command the right, even in prison. The parliamentarian is trying to consolidate his name in the dispute for Planalto and garner support from the center, which changes preference for the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans).
“Bolsonaro shows that even in prison, isolated, he calls the shots. And that generated something good, which is Flávio’s candidacy. (…) He has everything to win,” said Kicis in a conversation with journalists, this Wednesday (21). She is close to the former president.
The statement comes amid a kind of cold war between part of the Bolsonaro family and Tarcísio. The governor of São Paulo was tipped to run for President, but was passed over by the former president, who announced exclusive support for his son.
Last week, there was friction in the group when the former first lady shared a video of Tarcísio in the tone of a presidential candidate. The gesture bothered Flávio, who is trying to consolidate his candidacy.
For Bia, many people “want to create confusion” about Tarcísio and Bolsonaro. She classifies the rumors of a breakup, intensified by the cancellation of the governor’s visit to the former president, as “a flash in the pan.”
The deputy also stated that the right would have Tarcísio and Michelle as options only if Flávio did not take off. She considers, however, that this is not the scenario.
“If he had launched his candidacy and it didn’t work out, it was poor, that would be fine… But that’s not the case. But, unlike Lula, we have good options. Without him, [a esquerda] there is no one”, concluded the deputy.
