Chelsea beats Pafos and maintains chance of qualifying for the Champions League

Chelsea won a narrow 1-0 victory over Pafos FC this Wednesday (21), in a match valid for the seventh round of the 2025/26 Champions League, at Stamford Bridge.

The only goal of the match was scored by Moisés Caicedo in the 32nd minute of the second half, following a corner kick by Pedro Neto.

The English team dominated the game from the beginning, accumulating 20 shots, 8 of which were on target, against just 3 attempts by the Cypriots.

Pafos goalkeeper Jay Gorter was one of the highlights of the match with important saves, especially in the first half, when he prevented goals from Moisés Caicedo and Jorrel Hato.

The Blues maintained control of ball possession throughout the match, with an impressive 682 successful passes compared to the opponent’s 223.

With the result, Chelsea reached 13 points and took eighth place in the Champions League, keeping the fight for a place in the round of 16 alive.

Pafos FC remains at the bottom of the table, struggling to gain points in the continental competition.
