Slovak show business was hit by sad news on Friday, January 16. Moderator Marcel Osztas died at the age of 37 after a battle with a serious illness. He admitted the first problems on the social network at the beginning of December 2025. He battled pancreatic cancer. Osťo, as everyone nicknamed him, was supposed to celebrate his wedding anniversary these days, but instead his love Ľubica is preparing the moderator’s funeral.
“Today we were supposed to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We promised ourselves that it would always be somewhere by the sea. But instead, we are preparing your farewell… An oxymoron of life that does not need an ending. I can’t even think of any, because all that remains is silence and emptiness,” she wrote on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, adding a video of photos of Osťo with her family to her touching words. Many famous faces responded to the post and expressed their support for the widow. “Good luck, I’m extremely sorry,” wrote Soňa Skoncová. The presenter was also joined by singer Veronika Nízlová, rappers Rytmus and Pil C, entrepreneur and influencer Zuzana Strausz Plačková and member of the NR SR Vladimíra Marcinková.
His departure strongly affected his close friend – the rapper Separ. He decided to say goodbye to him in his own way. “Today I said goodbye to a person who meant more to me than can be explained in a few sentences… I decided not to be at the funeral in Slovakia. Not because I didn’t care about him, but just because I cared about him a lot. Grief is not a public performance. I’m in Bali, where I was supposed to be with him now.” the rapper said on Instagram on Tuesday. According to his words, he said goodbye at the place where the host Osťo had a wedding on that day 8 years ago. It was a place he loved and where he was himself.
“I wanted to say goodbye to him sincerely, quietly and without spectators. With the blessing of his family and wife, I had a ritual done here for him with canamg sari, dupa and sembahyang to escort his soul and let him fly. Everyone grieves differently. I chose solitude, memories and a place that was close to him. I fully identify with this decision, because it is real and it is no coincidence that I am here on this day. Rest in peace my brother,” Separ captioned the three shots, which show their embrace, their wedding in Bali, and finally their farewell.
Although the disease was taking its toll on him and he looked tired, moderator Osztas was determined not to give up at the beginning of 2026. He called 2025 the best year in his life. “Greetings from the hospital… Despite the fact that I am experiencing the most difficult battle with myself and my own body, this year was paradoxically the best year of my life. He taught me an incredible amount and is still teaching me. A lot happened, a lot was experienced. We created incredible projects,” he wrote on Instagram.
“If I could leave you with one message, it would be this: Don’t take anything for granted. Everything can change at any minute. I wish you all love and health,” concluded Osťo, thanking him for the incredible support.
