The defense of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) requested authorization from Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), so that the former president can receive a visit from Minister Jorge Antonio de Oliveira Francisco, of the TCU (Federal Audit Court).
The former president is imprisoned in Papudinha, a space within the Papuda Penitentiary Complex, in Brasília. All visits, with the exception of Bolsonaro’s wife and children, .
In Papudinha, they can occur both indoors and outdoors. The opening hours are expanded and allow up to three different slots, on two days of the week: Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 8am to 10am, from 11am to 1pm or from 2pm to 4pm.
The date of the meeting with Jorge Oliveira will be defined by minister Alexandre de Moraes.
The minister is an old friend of Bolsonaro and worked with the family for more than 15 years and was appointed to the TCU by the former president himself.
In court, he was the author of a thesis that freed President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) from returning a Cartier watch, valued at R$60,000, received from a French manufacturer during his first term. The new understanding could benefit Bolsonaro in the case of Saudi jewelry.
Oliveira was also nominated by the former president, in 2020, for the position of Minister of Justice. He would take the place left by Sérgio Moro, but today minister of the STF.
In Congress, he was Jair Bolsonaro’s legal advisor when he was a federal deputy and Eduardo Bolsonaro’s chief of staff.
On January 1, 2019, Oliveira took over as deputy head of Legal Affairs at the Civil House of the Presidency of the Republic. Then, on June 21, 2019, he was appointed chief minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic.
