The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), stated this Thursday, 22, that he is a candidate for re-election – therefore frustrating hopes that the president could run for president of the Republic in this year’s 2026 elections.
In his profile on X, Tarcísio highlighted that “he will always work for a united and strong right to remove the left from power”.
In the same publication, the governor also said that “any different information” about his situation – in this case, his candidacy for re-election – “is nothing more than speculation”.
Opportunity with security!
Tarcísio also noted that he will visit former president Jair Bolsonaro – currently imprisoned in Papudinha, in Brasília – on Thursday next week. He stated that “he is and will be grateful and loyal to Bolsonaro” and highlighted that he will “provide full support and solidarity” during the visit.
