Shortly afterwards, Thelma looked for her friend to comfort him. With words of support, the doctor tried to calm him down and said the phrase that stuck with him: “It’s all in its own time, okay?” At the time, the speech sounded like a consolation given Babu’s frustration at never having reached the position of Leader.
What seemed like just another moment of defeat took on new meaning years later. On BBB 26, Babu Santana returned to reality and, finally, won his first Leader Test in two editions of the program. The unprecedented victory came after a long contest, divided into two stages, and was received with great emotion by the actor.
Upon putting on the leader’s necklace, Babu couldn’t contain his tears and gave an emotional speech, recalling his journey in the game and the difficulties he faced in the past. “I don’t know what it’s like to win a lot of hearts, I don’t know what it’s like to be a Leader. It’s a new game,” he said, crying, as he celebrated the historic achievement.
The leadership in BBB 26 symbolized a true turning point for Babu Santana and reinforced the idea expressed by Thelma years before: the right time has arrived. The actor transformed BBB 20’s tears of frustration into tears of achievement, moving the audience and consolidating one of the most striking arcs in the program’s recent history.
