President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, spoke by phone on Thursday night (22), reported Chinese state news agency Xinhua.
Also according to the agency, during the call, Xi stated that both countries must ensure the common interests of the Global South and jointly maintain the central role of the UN (United Nations).
The Chinese president also called on both countries to be constructive forces in safeguarding world peace and boosting global governance, Xinhua added.
