Passengers report theft and damage to luggage on a flight from Guarulhos to Rio Branco; VIDEO

Passengers who disembarked in Rio Branco this Friday (23) reported theft and damage to their luggage after a flight from Guarulhos to the capital of Acre. According to reports, several suitcases arrived broken, with broken locks, damaged wheels and stolen belongings.

One of the victims, Karla Cristina Mota, military police officer and president of the Association of Corporals and Soldiers of Pará, appears in a video explaining the situation. She reports that her suitcase had a padlock with a password, but that, on the journey between Guarulhos and Rio Branco, the padlock was broken, the luggage was rummaged through and objects were stolen, including glasses and a football shirt.

Karla questions the financial loss, the inconvenience caused and the material damage suffered. According to her, when she sought assistance at the airline’s counter upon arrival in Rio Branco, she was informed that no action could be taken at that time, on the grounds that the weight of the luggage at disembarkation was the same as that recorded at boarding, even with the absence of belongings.

In addition to this case, other passengers reported similar problems, such as suitcases with broken wheels, broken padlocks and structural damage. One of the victims stated that this is the second time he has faced this type of situation. In total, several pieces of luggage were damaged.

Passengers demand investigation of the facts, compensation for losses and reinforcement of security in the handling of luggage, highlighting that complaints of this type have been frequent.
