Phil Collins (74) admitted that excessive alcohol consumption damaged his kidneys. The British musician no longer hides that years of drinking have taken their toll on his poor health. Musician today, due to a variety of problems, he lives with the continuous assistance of a nurse.
“It’s a long-term thing. I have a 24-hour nurse who makes sure I take my medication as I should. I had knee problems, everything that could go wrong went wrong. I got covid in the hospital and my kidneys started to fail, it all happened at once,” said Collins in an interview with Zoe Ball.
The singer underwent five knee operations. “Now I have a knee that works and I can walk, albeit with help, like crutches. I probably drank too much and my kidneys are damaged. I drank during the day, I was never drunk, although I fell a few times. It all caught up with me and I spent months in the hospital,” added a Genesis member.
