The majority of citizens surveyed in seven European Union (EU) countries consider the North American President an “enemy of Europe”, according to a survey published this Friday by the French geopolitics magazine.
Of those surveyed, 51% classify Donald Trump as hostile “enemy of europe”and 44% as dictatorwhile only 8% consider him a “friend of Europe”, according to the study by the Cluster17 institute. Another 39% answered “neither one thing nor the other” and 2% did not know how to answer, according to the news agency France-Presse (AFP).
For 64% of respondents, American foreign policy is defined by “recolonization” and “predation”.
After Trump’s attitude towards , 73% of Europeans now believe that the European Union should rely exclusively on itself to defend its independence: 81% believe that a military operation in Greenland would constitute “an act of war against Europe”, and 63% support sending troops to the island in a defensive posture. Also 63% consider the kidnapping of Maduro an illegal act that violates the sovereignty of a sovereign state.
The survey was carried out between January 13 and 19 among 7,498 people in France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark and Poland, at a time marked by Trump’s statements about his intention to acquire Greenland.
