Actor, who won the ‘Best Actor’ award at the Golden Globes on January 11th, will now compete in the main cinema awards, for his role in ‘The Secret Agent’
Actor Wagner Moura, nominated for an Oscar in the “Best Actor” category, was informed that he would compete for the award by Leonardo Lacca, cast preparer for “The Secret Agent”. “Waguinho once again heard good news from me. The ‘caba’ was on the plane, with bad internet and people sleeping next to it”, wrote Lacca, in a post on social media.
In the post, Lacca shared a print, in which it is possible to see the Brazilian actor thrilled with the news. “Léo, you are always the herald of incredible news when I am in a situation of not being able to celebrate and hug anyone,” Moura wrote.
Wagner Moura, who won the award for will now compete in the main cinema award, for his role in “The Secret Agent”. The Brazilian played Marcelo, a university professor who returns to the capital of Pernambuco in search of refuge, but ends up involved in a network of espionage and conspiracy.
The Brazilian cinematographic work received three other nominations in addition to Wagner’s:
- Best cast (new category)
- Best Film
- Best International Film
Brazilian Adolpho Veloso was nominated in the Best Photography category for ‘Sonhos de trem’, from Netflix.
The Brazilian cinematographer competes with big names in the category.
