Acre River drops more than half a meter in 24 hours and leaves the overflow quota in Rio Branco

The level of the Acre River showed a continuous drop between Friday (23) and Saturday morning (24), in Rio Branco, according to bulletins released by the Municipal Civil Defense. With the reduction, the spring left the overflow level, which is 14 meters.

On Friday (23), the river started the day at 5:19 am, measuring 14.57 meters, above the overflow level. Throughout the day, the level gradually decreased, reaching 14.16 meters at midnight, with a total reduction of 41 centimeters in around 19 hours. During the period, a volume of rain of just 2 millimeters was recorded in 24 hours.

This Saturday morning (24), at 5:45 am, the Acre River reached 13.98 meters, officially below the overflow level, although it still remains above the alert level, established at 13.50 meters. In the last 24 hours, there was no record of rain in the capital of Acre.

The data appears in bulletins signed by the municipal Civil Defense coordinator, Cláudio Falcão, and indicates a low tide scenario, which brings relief to the areas that had been affected by the rise of the river in recent days. Civil Defense continues to monitor the behavior of the water source.
