According to the police report, the collision occurred around 12:50 am, on Avenida Guilherme Perereca Guglielmo, in front of the José Corrêa Poliesportivo Gymnasium. According to police records, the movement of vehicles is prohibited on site. At the time of the accident, the artist was driving a sports car valued at more than R$1 million and was accompanied by a woman in the passenger seat.
The singer, whose name is Emerson Teixeira Muniz, was arrested in the act shortly after the collision, which left the young man seriously injured. After a custody hearing held this Saturday, the court decided to convert the temporary detention into preventive detention.
The funk singer’s legal advisor reported that the defense presented arguments related to the artist’s personal and professional history, but that, even so, the court opted to maintain custody. The case remains in the investigation phase.
Below is the official defense note in full:
The legal advice of the artist MC Tuto, represented by lawyer José Estevam Macedo Lima, informs that the artist attended the custody hearing, an opportunity in which the defense presented its clarifications to the court.
On the occasion, elements were exposed that demonstrate the artist’s personal and professional history. Even so, the judicial authority opted, at this time, to maintain custody, a decision that will be duly analyzed and reevaluated through the appropriate procedural measures.
The defense highlights that MC Tuto is primary school, has a fixed residence, carries out legal and well-known professional activity, maintains stable relationships and has always made himself available to Justice, with, so far, no concrete indication of risk to the regular progress of the process.
The artist has been fully collaborating with investigations related to the traffic incident that occurred on January 24, 2026, in Barueri (SP). It should be noted that the case is in the investigation phase, and there is no conviction, and the constitutional principle of the presumption of innocence must be observed.
MC Tuto and his defense team deeply regret what happened, express solidarity with the victim and his family and wish him a speedy and full recovery. They also reaffirm their commitment to the responsible investigation of the facts and inform that the appropriate legal measures continue to be adopted.
