Former federal deputy and writer Jean Wyllys used social media to celebrate Wagner Moura’s nomination for the Oscar for Best Actor. In a publication, he highlighted the actor’s trajectory and recalled the friendship built over decades.
Jean highlighted his pride in his friend’s achievement, who also won the 2026 Golden Globe in the same category, and stated that Wagner has always been by his side on issues related to human rights. According to him, the partnership between the two goes beyond the professional field and is based on personal affinity and mutual admiration.

In the message, the former parliamentarian recalled that he met Wagner Moura when he was still young, during the period when they were both studying at the Faculty of Communication at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Since then, according to Jean, he has closely followed the actor’s artistic growth, still on the Bahian theater stage.
In addition to the tribute, Jean Wyllys also mentioned, in a good-humored tone, old rumors that circulated on social media about a supposed romantic relationship between the two. He stated that he viewed the speculation as something trivial and took the opportunity to reinforce his affection and respect for the actor’s family.
Wagner Moura made history by becoming the first Brazilian nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor, for his performance in the film The Secret Agent. In the category, he competes with Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon).
