Constantino de Oliveira Júnior, founder and president of the Board of Directors of Gol, due to cancer. He was hospitalized in the capital São Paulo. Born in Patrocínio (MG) and son of Nenê Constantino, a businessman in the transport sector, Constantino Júnior studied Business Administration at the University of the Federal District and participated in the Executive Corporate Management Program at Association for Overseas Technical Scholarships in Yokohama, Japan. Before founding Gol, he held the position of director at Comporte Participações, a company that controls several land passenger transport companies, from 1994 to 2000.

In 2001, the executive passionate about aviation took on the role of chief executive officer (CEO) of the airline and, in 2004, he became a member of the board of directors, accumulating both roles until 2012. Still in 2004, Constantino debuted Gol’s shares on the São Paulo and New York Stock Exchanges. In 2012, he took over as president of the Board of Directors, a position he has held until now.

He was also a member of the Board of Directors and one of the founders of Grupo ABRA, where he served as chairman of the Board of Directors.

Gol recalls that Constantino Júnior was chosen as “Executive of Value” in 2002 and 2001 by the newspaper Economic Valueand as “Leading Executive” in the logistics sector in 2003 by the newspaper Mercantil Gazettein addition to being named “Distinguished Executive” in the Air Transport category at the GALA (Galería Aeronáutica Latinoamericana) awards, sponsored by IATA, in 2008.
