The district deputy (PSOL) assesses that the former banker’s testimony to , in which he with (MDB), could change the situation and increase the chances of impeachment of the governor of the Federal District.
The information was revealed by and confirmed by Sheet. In his testimony, the former banker said he had handled the sale with the governor in an institutional manner. When contacted, Ibaneis declined to comment.
For Fábio Félix, the parliamentary recess contributed to reducing the case’s appeal to deputies, but, with the return of legislative work, the situation should change. “There is no movement, but this should create embarrassment for deputies in an election year. They will be under a lot of pressure”, he assesses.
The deputy sees a direct impact on the prospects for the governor, who could continue to lead the government to maintain jurisdiction, according to Félix. “This weakens the governor, who may be subject to impeachment proceedings. PSOL has decided that it will file a request for impeachment,” he says.
“All of this should create a wave of weakening of the governor in an election year. Celina Leão, the vice-governor, is an ally of this project and would only stand up as a candidate with the support of this entire political condominium that supports the governor and which is now fragmenting.”
Félix sees the situation changing rapidly with the emergence of new elements. “Today, we have no correlation of forces [na Câmara Distrital] to create a CPI [Comissão Parlamentar de Inquérito] and not even for impeachment, but tomorrow this could happen, because the crisis is expanding very quickly and there is no way not to have Governor Ibaneis Rocha’s direct fingerprint”, he says.
He also calculates that the BRB’s situation due to the Master scandal could cause popular commotion and favor a possible impeachment process. “BRB is the bank that operates the payroll of public servants”, he states.
“Account holders are worried, especially public servants. The damage will be irreparable and the governor will have to pay for what he did for involving the DF and BRB in this national scandal.”
