The US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessant, stated that the country cannot allow Canada to become a “gateway” to China “dump cheap products” in American territory, in an interview with the ABC this Sunday (25).
“We have the USMCA (US-Mexico-Canada Agreement), but based on that – which will be renegotiated in the summer – I’m not sure what Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is doing, he criticized.
For Bessent, Carney not “doing the best job” for the Canadian people.
