Firefighters: protesters struck by lightning had chest burns

The Fire Department reported this Sunday (25) that eight people were struck by lightning during a demonstration organized by deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), in support of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

According to the corporation, 30 victims were taken to hospitals, while another 42 received treatment on site. Among those injured by the lightning, some had burns on their hands and chest, but their individual health status has not yet been detailed.

According to the Fire Department, in addition to cases related to lightning, there were records of sprains and episodes of hyperthermia, attributed to the weather conditions.

“Due to the variation in temperature, it was necessary to use a thermal blanket. Regarding the victims of the lightning, I can’t say whether they were men, women or children, only that there were eight people. The lightning struck a large area”, said Captain Robson, from the Fire Department.
