SÃO PAULO, Jan 24 (Reuters) – Gafisa’s board of directors elected on Friday (23) Luis Fernando Ortiz to the position of CEO of the company, replacing Sheyla Resende, whose term of office has come to an end, the company said in a relevant fact released this Saturday.
In the document, Gafisa also said that Taimir Barbosa was elected as financial director and operational executive director responsible for the company’s controlling area.
The vice-president of business, Frederico Kessler, and the director of investor relations and operational executive director responsible for the legal area, Carmelo Di Leta, were retained in their positions.
“Ms. Sheyla Resende ends a virtuous cycle of 16 years in the service of Gafisa, having joined as a trainee and more recently, as CEO, she was a key player in the process of repositioning the company in the market as one of the main players in the high-end luxury real estate segment”, states the document.
Gafisa also said that Ortiz’s election “represents the continuity of the management that has been responsible for repositioning the company’s activities and consolidating it as one of the main players in the real estate market in the high-luxury segment”.
Ortiz has worked at Gafisa for 14 years and was recently the company’s business vice-presidency, states the relevant fact, which points to the executive as a “central piece in Gafisa’s repositioning strategy in the high-luxury segment in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro”.
