The time is approaching when it is worth starting to prepare seedlings of one of the plants. It is extremely charming and has small flowers that delight with their colors, because they can be pink, white or intensely blue. Just a few simple steps are enough to sow them and enjoy their beauty.
In February, it is worth sowing the plant, which needs a lot of time so that it can later delight with its beautiful flowers. We are talking about lobelia, which is best sown in flat containers or multi-pots. When preparing them, you should: place appropriate soil in them, i.e. light and permeable soil.
We can buy ready-made soil or use gardening soil, sift it and mix it with sand or perlite. Due to the fact that lobelia seeds are really small, we do not need to cover them with soil. It is only worth scattering them gently over the surface, using a moistened stick.
When we finish sowing, we spray the whole thing with water from the atomizer, doing it very gently so as not to wash out the seeds. Cover the pot with food foil with small holes, to create a mini-greenhouse that will provide the growing lobelia with moisture and heat, which is everything it needs to germinate.

It is also important how we take care of the seeds after sowing. We must provide them with stable conditions conducive to development. It’s best to the temperature was in the range of 18-21 degrees Celsius, so we can easily place our pots on the windowsill above the radiator.
It is also worth making sure that the seeds had access to daylight because lobelia does not tolerate dark places. When we see the first tiny leaves of the plant, which usually appear after about 10-14 days, we can slightly open the foil, and after a few days, remove it completely.
Let’s also make sure that the substrate was constantly moist, but not wet. It is best to feed the seeds from the bottom, placing the container in a bowl of water for a while so that it can draw the liquid on its own. This will avoid washing away the delicate sprouts.
In turn, when the seedlings are about 2-3 cm tall, we can prune them, i.e. carefully transplant them into larger containers, preferably in clusters of several plants. Remember that lobelia grows best in groups, so it should not be separated.
