Traditional donuts are made of yeast dough. Their preparation requires making sourdough, kneading the dough and setting it aside to rise. All this, along with deep frying, takes a lot of time. Every day I reach for the recipe for these mini donuts. They are made much faster, and the fruit filling is delicious for the whole family.

Donuts are clearly associated with Fat Thursdayalthough they are a delicacy well known to us every day. However, on this one day of the year we eat a huge amount of them – apparently this is the only way they don’t make us fat.

My family loves donuts, but baking these homemade delicacies takes a lot of time. Fortunately, this recipe for mini apple donuts is much simpler. I make sweet delicacies in just 15 minutes. You don’t need yeast or a lot of oil to prepare them. They are fried in a pan. Most often, I add apples to them, but you can also replace them with other fruits, e.g. bananas or blueberries.

To prepare mini donuts, you need a few products that are almost always at home. This makes things much easier. You can fry them any time you feel like eating something sweet.

Ingredients:

  • a glass of wheat flour,
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar,
  • egg,
  • bigger apple,
  • half a glass of milk,
  • frying oil,
  • zest of 1/2 lemon,
  • baking soda or baking powder – optional.

Preparation:

  1. Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar.
  2. Scald the lemon and grate the zest finely. Add to flour.
  3. Add the egg and milk to the flour and mix thoroughly.
  4. Peel the apple and cut it into small cubes or grate it coarsely.
  5. Fry the mini donuts in well-heated oil for a few minutes on both sides.

Serve sprinkled with sugar or powdered sugar.
