Injured protesters put in body bags, patients executed in hospitals in Iran

Five countries came together to convince the US not to attack Iran. Meanwhile, there is an aircraft carrier on its way to the region

Information is provided by the Iranian Human Rights Documentation Center exclusively to the news website The Media Line. This Sunday marks the 17th consecutive day of a “blackout” imposed by the Iranian authorities, which has made it difficult to report violations since protests against the regime began at the end of 2025.

Protesters injured in the protests that have been sweeping several cities in Iran since December will have been transported to morgues while still alive to be executed, the newspaper reports this Sunday based on exclusive news from the portal The Media Line, which in turn cites information collected by the Human Rights Documentation Center of Iran.

A survivor who had pretended to be dead was transported in a body bag, where he remained for three days, hearing shots being fired at other injured civilians. Investigators at the center say they have documented cases of protesters found alive in body bags.

With Iran plunged for 17 days into a “blackout” imposed by the Ayatollah regime, which has hampered Iranians’ communications with each other and with the outside world, the center interviewed the young survivor who spent three days in a body bag – and who managed to escape when a crowd of family members of missing protesters invaded the place in search of their loved ones.

a US-based Middle East news agency, a Tehran forensic expert says the level of brutality demonstrated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in killing injured protesters in hospitals was such that many healthcare workers were left in severe psychological shock. These professionals confirm having witnessed how injured people were transferred to morgues in body bags while they were still alive. The specialist says he has heard other doctors report situations of injured patients killed by security forces.

According to professor Amir Mobarez Parasta, who investigated the massacre of protesters in Iran on the 8th and 9th of January, when repression escalated, half of the dead never reached hospitals and many other deaths were never officially registered in medical facilities, says the same newspaper. Parasta also confirmed reports of protesters found alive inside body bags.

The Media Line newspaper says it accessed a message from a nurse who confirmed that patients were being systematically executed. The nurse went later, according to the website.

The message read: “I saw it with my own eyes; they came and took the injured. There was even someone in the operating room — I heard they even fired the final shots (execution shots). Taking someone out of the operating room means they intend to kill him. Now we are all ‘walking dead’. I can’t describe the level of shock we are in. I’m not afraid of them killing me. My only reason for wanting to stay alive is to be there for the injured. I can’t describe the level of shock we are in. But I want to keep going live only to take care of the wounded. You can’t imagine how many injured people we have here.”

The Islamic Republic turned off the internet on January 8, the day on which the anti-government protests triggered on December 28 reached their peak, with harsh state repression in response. According to the official version, more than 3,100 people died. Opposition organizations, such as HRANA, based in the United States, speak of at least 5,495 deaths.

Tehran blames the deaths on the United States, Israel and their “terrorist agents”, while organizations such as Amnesty International have denounced strong state repression, describing what has taken place in the protests as .
