Adela Vinczeová (45) has had a year of major job changes. She stood up for her husband, Viktor Vincze (34), who was given a choice by the Markíza TV management between hosting a dance show and Televízny noviny. It started an avalanche and ended up in Markíza by itself. In an interview with, she looked back on the turbulent period and assessed that everything crystallized very clearly in her on the path they went through.
“I would be disingenuous if I claimed that I was completely clear about my position from the very first moment. I was also looking for myself for a while, but the situation in the media environment began to show more and more clear signals that internally redirected me to exactly where I am.” says the seasoned presenter.
She does not see her decision as a sacrifice for her husband’s principles. “I see it more as joining the principles that at that time resonated not only with Viktor, but with a relatively large group of people in the Marquis. For some reason, however, at a certain decisive moment, several of his colleagues decided to back down. But that’s their path, which I don’t deal with or evaluate any further,” said the presenter.
“We share these values together, that’s why we go forward together – not only in our private lives, but also in our attitudes. However, I always paid great attention to the fact that it was primarily my values and my autonomous decisions that I made. Changes in the career are often reflected in the surroundings. Adela Vinczeová was therefore asked whether her circle of friends had narrowed with Viktor Vincze.Those key friendships remained. In fact, I can say that all important relationships have survived. Then there were the collegial ones, which understandably cooled down because we are no longer in daily working contact. But that is a natural process. They are mostly people whom we are comfortable with when we meet them on the street. But sometimes I have the feeling, and maybe it’s just my wrong impression, that some colleagues feel a little guilty,” she started.
Subsequently, she said more about it. “Maybe because they declared some kind of struggle for culture, freedom or democracy, but in the end they remained silent with their commercial employer. Sometimes I feel more careful communication on their part, but otherwise I don’t feel like half the world has turned its back on us.” she answered a private question.
“I never expected radical gestures from anyone, such as a resignation from the series. Rather, perhaps somewhere in my subconscious, I was hoping for an elementary interest in the essence of the matter – an effort to hear the other side of the story, not only the official one, which will always try to defend its actions. Maybe in the corner of my soul I was waiting for someone to gather courage and say something out loud, but I definitely don’t feel disappointed about it.” Vincze continued.
However, she hinted at whom she was waiting for such a big step. “I admit that I had such expectations especially for specific “fighters” who tend to be very vocal on other fronts. However, it is relatively comfortable to fight on neutral ground, where basically nothing threatens us. The real test of attitude comes when we speak up where we are paid, because that comes with risks. Nevertheless, I repeat that I do not carry any disappointment in me,” she emphasized, adding that she cannot see into people’s heads and has no idea what they actually faced or feared. „Maybe I expected something from someone, but I’m not disappointed,” she concluded this topic.
