Motta: calm with Nikolas’ march and discards 8/1 – 24/01/2026 – Panel

The president of , (-PB), adopted an attitude opposite to that of the Lula government, which surrounded the Planalto Palace with bars, fearing violence with the arrival of the Bolsonaro march led by the deputy (PL-MG).

“There is no risk of a new January 8th,” Motta told the Panel. “I spoke to Nikolas at the beginning of the march, I’m sure it will be peaceful. I even ordered the Legislative Police to revoke his escort, as he has received some death threats. I also know that the police in Goiás and the Federal District are monitoring this demonstration”, said Motta, who stated that he was monitoring the march from a distance.

This Sunday (25), the march is scheduled to take place near the memorial of former president Juscelino Kubitschek.

The location is far from Praça dos Três Poderes, but still after the trauma of vandalism three years ago.

The demonstration should have a large presence of Bolsonaro politicians and will be a demonstration of strength by the right on the eve of the start of the electoral campaign.

The main agenda is the release of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), but the act should also boost the presidential candidacy of senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).

The presence of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro remains the biggest unknown. “I still don’t know what she decided”, says the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, who will be present.
