O MPF (Federal Public Ministry) obtained, last Thursday (22), the conviction of six members of the criminal faction PCC (First Command of the Capital) in Rondônia. The group was taken to a popular jury in June 2020, in the capital Porto Velho.
The defendants were convicted of the crimes of attempted murder and armed criminal organization. For the five men involved, the Jury Court defined sentences ranging from 10 years and six months and 12 years and three months in prison.
A woman, who was also part of the group, was acquitted of attempted murder out of mercy, but received a sentence of three years and six months in prison for joining the criminal organization.
The original criminal action was filed against ten people, however, four remaining defendants are scheduled for trial only in April. The sentence is still subject to appeal.
Planning and execution of the attack

In Porto Velho, the group rented a base and monitored prison system employees’ vehicles with the aim of kill at least one of four identified agents.

On the night of June 4, 2020, the victim was lured into a meeting through a fake profile on social networks. At the agreed location, occupants of three vehicles shot several times at the man, who was not hit by the shots.
