Vienna – A cash register fraud worth millions has been discovered in the catering industry. According to a report by ORF-“ZiB1”, citing the Ministry of Finance, the companies all used manipulated software. Most of the affected companies are located in Vienna and Lower Austria, but also Upper Austria, Burgenland and Styria. There are also “well-known restaurateurs” among them. Advertisements from the industry drew the attention of investigators.
