AgRural raises forecast for soybean and corn harvests in Brazil; harvest is accelerated

São Paulo (Reuters) – Brazil’s soybean production in the 2025/26 harvest should reach 181 million tons, AgRural estimated this Monday, increasing its forecast by around 600 thousand tons in relation to previously expected.

In the note, the consultancy also updated its monitoring of the oilseed harvest in the country, stating that work is at a good pace in Mato Grosso and has gained a little more speed in Paraná, while it is progressing or starting in other states.

In total, 4.9% of the area cultivated with soybeans in Brazil was harvested until last Thursday, compared to 2% a week earlier and 3.9% a year ago, according to AgRural.

As for corn, the consultancy also released a new estimate for Brazil’s total production in 2025/26, including the three harvests, now estimated at 136.6 million tons, against 136 million projected in December.
