Research by Instituto Locomotiva carried out in December 2025 shows that Lulistas and Bolsonaristas have similar opinions about international e-commerce sites, most of them Asian.
2,500 people over the age of 18 were interviewed across Brazil. According to the survey, 81% of voters for both Lula and Jair Bolsonaro in the second round of the 2022 election say they would not vote for a candidate who advocates giving privileges to foreign companies over Brazilian ones.
When the cut is made based on approval or disapproval of the Lula government, the result is similar. Among those who consider the management to be bad or terrible, 87% agree with the statement that “the government should promote measures to develop industry and retail in Brazil, not charging more taxes from our companies in relation to foreign companies”.
Among those who evaluate the government as excellent or good, the phrase is approved by 82%, and by 81% among those who consider the management to be regular.
