The São Paulo Court ordered, this Monday (26), that the Federal Police seize and block the passport of businessman João Appolinário, owner of Polishop, for the next two years.
The decision, signed by judge Douglas Ravacci, responds to the request of Itaú, which charges the company with an accumulated debt of more than R$1.9 million. In the action, the bank alleges that Polishop obtained, in 2020, a loan of R$5 million that should have been repaid in up to 42 monthly installments, but has not made payments since April 2024.
João Appolinário’s company has been in judicial recovery since 2024.

The seizure order affected two residential properties in Appolinário, located in Jardim Paulista, in São Paulo. The businessman can still appeal the decision.
In August 2024, three properties belonging to Appolinário had already been seized by the courts due to a debt owed by Polishop to Shopping Mooca, in the east zone of the capital of São Paulo. The debt would be related to the rent of a company store that operated at the location.
