Dispute over Anne Frank’s diary: How far does copyright go on the Internet?


Anne Frank’s diary has long been part of world literature, but there is still debate about its free use. Parts of the work are still protected by copyright in the Netherlands – in contrast to the situation in other countries. A dispute has now broken out at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in Luxembourg over the question of how far protection extends in the Netherlands. The verdict is still pending.
