ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is the United States federal agency responsible for enforcing immigration laws. ICE is controversial because it operates within North American territory, as has happened in Minneapolis, and not just at the borders, and also because it has a wide margin of action and the line between enforcing the law and violating rights has often been crossed.
