Nikolas denies lack of organization after lightning strikes protesters

Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) denied, this Sunday (25) that the act promoted by him in the federal capital had a “lack of organization”. During the demonstration, in Brasília, where the end of a six-day walk promoted by Nikolas took place.

According to information from the Fire Department, 72 victims were treated at the scene, 42 of which were stable, conscious and oriented. In total, 30 people were taken to the Federal District Base Hospital (HBDF) and the Asa Norte Regional Hospital (HRAN). Eight victims were in unstable conditions.

“There were 27 victims, of which […] Both will be under observation. The others, thank God, have nothing serious so far, according to the information I had”, said the parliamentarian after attending the Hospital de Base, in Brasília, to visit supporters who were struck by lightning during an event carried out by the parliamentarian.

“A natural incident happened. It wasn’t because of our irresponsibility, it wasn’t because of a lack of organization, it wasn’t because of a riot. It was literally something out of our control and we couldn’t help but come here to show our solidarity, to say that there are a lot of people praying for them, so that they recover soon and can be back to help our country”, he added.

Among those injured by the lightning, some had burns on their hands and chest, but their individual health status has not yet been detailed.

According to firefighters, in addition to cases related to lightning, there were records of sprains and episodes of hyperthermia, attributed to the weather conditions.

The Corporation also reported that it acted immediately, employing 25 vehicles, including 10 Rescue Units, to provide immediate assistance to those affected.
