It happened in 2024, but it is only now that the convictions for murderers of Pedro Ricardo were confirmed.

The episode took place in the center of Alverca and the alert was given by several witnesses, who saw the three attackers escape. The trio would be arrested later that day, with their clothes covered in blood.
They were sentenced to 18 and 20 years in prison by the Loures courtin a conviction now confirmed by the Lisbon Court of Appeal. They were also sentenced to pay compensation of 170 thousand euros to the victim’s parents.

Regarding the victim, cited by the CM, the judges say that lived with enthusiasm: “He was prevented from obtaining a license and employment. He felt death was approaching. He felt pain and distress and had awareness that he was going to die.”
The crime was described in detail in court: “[Pedro Ricardo] He was hit when he was on the ground on his back, trying to get up helplessly. It was a way, it will be said coward to achieve it.”
The judges did not accept applying the special regime for young people requested by the defendants’ defenses (some were 18 years old at the time of the crime).
“We are facing highly violent crime, carried out in combination of efforts, premeditated, with a high degree of coldness of spirit, which is not the prerogative of delinquent and immature young people, but rather demonstrates serious crime that causes great social harm”, they explained.
