Vasco easily beat Boavista 3-0, this Sunday (25), in a match valid for the fourth round of the 2026 Carioca Championship. At the Elcyr Resende de Mendonça stadium, in Bacaxá, Saquarema, Pumita Rodríguez, twice, and André Gómez scored the goals of the match.
The result is important for , which reached seven points and occupies second place in Group A of the competition. Boavista already has six points and is in third place in Group B.
The game
The game started warmly and without many chances for either side. Vasco dominated the actions and had a good chance with Tchê Tchê in the 31st minute, with Lucas making a great save. Boavista even found the net with Isael, but the goal was disallowed due to Brunão’s foul on Tchê Tchê.
Vasco opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time, when Puma Rodríguez took advantage of Gabriel Caran’s deflection after Andrés Gómez’s cross.
In the second half, he extended the score in the 18th minute, after receiving it from Rojas. The third goal came in the 23rd minute, scoring a great goal from outside the area.

Vasco will return to the field next Thursday (29) for the first round of the Brazilian Championship. Cruzmaltino faces Mirassol, away from home, at 8pm (Brasília time).
Boavista will face Sampaio Corrêa-RJ next Friday (30), at 7pm (Brasília time), in the fifth round of the Carioca Championship. For the state championship, Vasco will only play again on Monday (2), against Madureira.
