According to information from the Mais Goiás portal, the victim tied up the child’s hair with the aim of cutting it, an attitude that was not accepted by the girl’s mother, Karem Murielly de Jesus Oliveira, 34 years old.
According to delegate André Veloso, from the Guapó Police Station, the unit was already aware of previous conflicts between the two. In April 2025, ca protective measure was issued in favor of the victim. However, the request was later withdrawn by Maria de Lourdes herself from the Judiciary.
On the day of the crime, video surveillance cameras caught Karem Murielly at the victim’s residence accompanied by his daughter (Maria’s granddaughter).
After taking her mother’s life, the suspect fled to Goiânia, where she was located and arrested. She was taken to the Police Station Specialized in Women’s Assistance (DEAM) to register the incident and carry out initial investigations. According to the Civil Police, the suspect confessed to the crime to the authorities.

Custody hearing
During the custody hearing, held on Monday (26), the Justice accepted the request of the Public Ministry (MP) to convert the suspect’s arrest into preventive. The session was monitored by the Goiás Public Defender’s Office (DPE), which did not oppose the magistrate’s decision.
During the judicial procedure, the judge reported that the investigated woman stated that she had killed her mother because she “had no love for the victim” and that she had never maintained a harmonious relationship with Maria. It was recalled that the victim obtained a protective measure against her daughter in April 2025, but the court order was revoked at the mother’s request six months later, in October of the same year.
This history, according to the accused, contributed to the murder. According to the Civil Police, the suspect had received the knife used in the crime from her own daughter, who said that her mother “should do the same” with her grandmother. The case remains under investigation by the Guapó Police Station.
