- Danone withdrew Nutrilon Advanced 1 infant formula from the Slovak market.
- The recall concerns a production batch with a best before date of October 8, 2026.
- The move came after a warning from Ireland’s food watchdog.
The Danone company has preventively withdrawn from the Slovak market the initial infant formula Nutrilon Advanced 1, 350 grams, production batch 2026.10.08 with a minimum durability date of October 8, 2026. It proceeded to the preventive voluntary recall due to the warning of the Irish official food control body.
The Office of Public Health (ÚVZ) of the Slovak Republic does not recommend further use of the mentioned batches of the product for the preparation of food for infants. TASR was informed about this by the ÚVZ communication department “Contamination of food with cereulide (a toxin produced by the bacterium Bacillus cereus) can mainly cause loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, malaise, but it is also not possible to exclude more serious effects on health,” said the hygienists.
As they added, the withdrawal from the market will be verified in their regions by regional public health authorities according to the distribution list. Customers have the option of returning the purchased product to the seller who sold it to them.
