Strasbourg – The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which is part of the Council of Europe, has condemned autocratically ruled Azerbaijan for the criminal prosecution of an investigative journalist. Strasbourg judges found on Tuesday that Azerbaijan had violated several articles of the European Convention on Human Rights, in particular freedom of expression and the right to a fair trial.
