On Tuesday afternoon, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš called the conflict between President Petr Pavlo and Minister of Foreign Affairs Petr Macink wrong and invited both constitutional officials to a joint meeting. He said so on the X social network after Pavel announced that Macinka tried to blackmail him, as he refuses to appoint Filip Turk, the honorary president of the Motoristi sebe party, to the head of the environment department, reports TASR.

The head of the Czech diplomacy sent on Tuesday night two text messages to the president’s adviser, Petr Kolář, in which he requests an opinion and he wrote that if Pavel does not enter into any negotiations regarding the appointment of Turk, the consequences will surprise him – and not only him. In an earlier reaction, Babiš described Macinka’s words as unfortunate, but according to him, it is not blackmail.
