A British Film Academy will announce the official list of nominees for the Bafta (British Academy Film Awards), also known as the “British Oscars”, in this Tuesday (27)from the 9 am.
In the pre-list released at the beginning of the month, Brazil won four pre-nominations: two for “The Secret Agent”, one for “Apocalypse in the Tropics” and one for “Dreams by Train”.
Kleber Mendonça Filho’s film appears on the shortlist for the categories of Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay; Petra Costa’s documentary, in turn, was pre-nominated for Best Documentary; Brazilian Adolpho Veloso was also remembered in the Best Photography category, for “Sonhos de Trem”.

Brazilians will be able to follow the nominations for free, starting at 9am (Brasília time) on the official Bafta platforms: on the official website, Instagram and X, with real-time updates.
With all the nominees defined, the final voting begins with more than 8,000 global academy members choosing their favorites, between January 28th and February 17th. THE red carpet and awards ceremony is scheduled for the day February 22.
About the film “The Secret Agent”
Set in Recife in 1977, the title is a political thriller, which follows Marcelo, a teacher who runs away from a mysterious person and returns to the city in search of peace, but soon realizes that the place is far from the refuge he is looking for.
