Striker Deyverson is LDU’s newest reinforcement for the 2026 season. The official announcement was made by the Ecuadorian club this Tuesday morning (January 27), through an irreverent video on social media that highlights the Brazilian center forward’s charismatic style.
At 34 years old, the player arrives at the Ecuadorian club without transfer costs, after amicably terminating his contract with Fortaleza, the club he defended in 2025.

Deyverson at LDU: contract length and when he debuts
A LDU did not officially disclose the contract period with Deyverson. To make the agreement with the Ecuadorian giant viable, the athlete accepted a reduction in his salaries, motivated by the sporting project and the opportunity to compete again in the Libertadores, a competition in which he is a historic idol of Palmeiras and had a remarkable spell at Atlético-MG.
The striker is expected in Quito later this week to undergo medical examinations and immediately integrate into pre-season work under the command of Brazilian coach Tiago Nunes.
Although the exact date of the first official match still depends on the regularization of his documents with the Ecuadorian federation and his physical condition, the expectation is that Deyverson will be able to debut in the first round of the Ecuadorian Championship (LigaPro). The tournament does not yet have a start date. Last season, the championship started at the beginning of February, on the 14th.
The signing of Deyverson is seen by the LDU board as a strategic step towards competing in the group stage of the Libertadores 2026. Known for his decision-making power in knockout tournaments, the center forward arrives with the mission of being the reference in the area and bringing the necessary experience for the club to seek its second title in the continental competition.
