Hazel, alder, birch: what allergy sufferers can expect this year


2025 was a comparatively quiet year for many allergy sufferers. Less sneezing, fewer watery eyes, fewer stuffy noses – overall, pollen counts last year were below average for most of the main allergens. But that is likely to change in 2026; the early bloomers in particular will probably be more intensive this year. Those affected should therefore prepare now, writes the pollen service at the Med-Uni Vienna in a press release.
