“There is a depression in the circulation of the Joseph depression. It is a secondary depression, it forms to the west of the continent (…). It will bring us lots of wind, rain, snow and sea waves”, he added.
According to Cristina Simões, this secondary depression will be centered on 00:00 Wednesday west of Porto.
Therefore, IPMA has already issued red warning, the most serious, for the districts of Porto, Aveiro and Coimbra between 03:00 and 06:00with winds with gusts of around 140 kilometers per hour (km/h) expected.
The remaining districts of the continent will be under orange warning due to strong winds with gusts of 100 km/h, reaching 120 km/h in the highlands.
“It’s a situation that passes quickly, everything will be between 00:00 and 06:00 on the 28th [quarta-feira] (…). It will pass through the regions of Coimbra, Porto and Aveiro towards Spain, from west to east”, he said.
