Last week, the Attorney General of the Republic, requested that the minister’s impediment and suspicion in the case be recognized. The request mentioned as justification the jet trip he took with lawyer Augusto Botelho, who defends a Master director.
Toffoli is the rapporteur of the Master case at the Supreme Court. By his decision, the investigation is in the STF with , a condition in which even simple information, such as the list of lawyers working, is hidden.
The minister’s actions also include other decisions related to the process and his calls.
Among other things, the minister scheduled a confrontation between the Director of Supervision of the Central Bank, Ailton de Aquino, Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Master, and the former president of BRB (Bank of Brasília) Paulo Henrique Costa. Faced with the negative repercussions, he backtracked and said that Aquino’s participation in the confrontation would be the responsibility of the Federal Police.
