February already begins with an extended break in Acre’s calendar due to Carnival 2026. The period will guarantee three consecutive days off or differentiated work for the state public service.

According to the official calendar, Monday (16) and Tuesday (17) of February will have an optional opening at state public offices due to Carnival. On Ash Wednesday (18), work will only resume at 2pm.

In practice, the period creates a rest break in the middle of the week, with two full days off and a third with reduced opening hours for public bodies. The program favors both those who want to travel and those who are just looking for a break from their routine.

In addition to Carnival, the 2026 calendar draws attention to the number of holidays on working days. Nationally, nine of the ten official holidays will fall between Monday and Friday, the highest number recorded in the last decade.

In the regional scenario, Acre stands out even more. The state has six of its own state holidays, which reinforces a calendar considered one of the most fragmented in the country. The combination of national holidays on working days and local dates tends to cause more interruptions in the functioning of public offices, schools and parts of the service sector.

As a result, 2026 is shaping up to be a year marked by frequent breaks throughout the calendar, requiring planning from both the public administration and the private sector, while at the same time offering more opportunities for rest distributed throughout the year.
