It is in the lead in the category of secondary vocational schools (SOŠ). Business Academy on Kukučínová Street in Trnava. Among the gymnasiums, students from Bratislava again achieved the best results Gymnasium on Grösslingova street. This follows from the data of the Institute for Economic and Social Reforms (INEKO), which was presented by its director Dušan Zachar at Tuesday’s press conference.

Pupils of ZŠ Rudolfa Dilonga in Trstena, SOŠ na Nerudova in Hlohovec and Grammar School in Detva on Štúrová street improved the most in terms of points. Among elementary schools attended by more than 20 percent of students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, Comenského Elementary School in Smižany took first place. On the website skoly.ineko.sk you can find the results of the assessment of primary and secondary schools in Slovakia, as well as other data.

The first vice-president of the Republican Union of Employers (RÚZ) Mário Lelovský, in connection with the evaluation of the results of elementary school students in the rankings, pointed out the non-implementation of Test 5, which he considered a valuable source of information. Data are available only for the 2021/2022 school year. He therefore appealed to the Ministry of Education to ensure nationwide standardized measurements as soon as possible. According to his words, he has information that schoolchildren should be tested in three-year cycles, which are being gradually switched to as part of the curriculum reform. However, he did not receive an answer to the question of when it will be secured.

He also commented on the topic of optimizing secondary schools. “The results also in this testing clearly support the idea that a big school has the opportunity to be a better school,” stated. At the same time, however, he pointed out that although the ministry started optimizing secondary schools last year, it considers some measures to be camouflage, for example moving pupils or ID numbers.

“So we think that when we reduced the number of schools we have from 808 to 796, that we didn’t do anything. It’s just absolutely deplorable what the self-governing regions are showing,” Lelovský added. He mentioned countries such as Finland, Singapore and England as examples of the number of schools. According to him, Slovakia can also be inspired by Slovenia.
