Russian attacks on Kharkiv resulted in casualties and damaged several civilian objects. The attacks come at a time of ongoing peace negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the US.
On Monday, Russian forces attacked Ukraine’s second largest city, Kharkiv, with missiles and drones. Residential buildings, a school and a kindergarten were affected. The mayor of the city, Ihor Terechov, reported on two injured people. TASR writes about it according to the Reuters agency.
Photos were published on the Telegram social network in which the city is plunged into darkness. Kharkiv, only 30 kilometers from the Russian border, is a frequent target of Russian attacks.

Russian drones also attacked in the city of Kryvyi Rih, where they hit a high-rise residential building. The commander of the local military administration Olexandr Vilkul said that a fire broke out on the spot. However, there were no injuries.
Attacks on Ukrainian cities are taking place despite ongoing negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the US aimed at ending the conflict. White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavittová said on Monday that US President Donald Trump continues to be intensively involved in the peace process.
