You can also serve it as a party snack as dip for fresh vegetables cut into sticks, e.g. cucumber, celery or carrot.
To prepare this recipe, you will need:
- 150 g semi-skimmed cottage cheese,
- 100 g will be gruyere,
- 50 g of parmesan,
- 3 tablespoons of natural yogurt,
- 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise,
- 1 spring onion,
- ½ teaspoon of salt,
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper.
Crush the cottage cheese thoroughly with a fork in a bowl, getting rid of any larger lumps.
Grate Gruyere and Parmesan cheese using a fine grater.
Add the remaining cheeses, yogurt and mayonnaise to the cottage cheese. Mix until you get a smooth, thick base.
Chop the spring onions very finely with a sharp knife and add them to the paste. Season everything with pepper. Before adding salt, try the paste – the cheeses are already salty and you may not need to add more salt.
Place the cheese sandwich spread in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors combine. Serve the dish with savory crackers, croutons and fresh bread. Alternatively, you can also use it to stuff vegetables.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container and use within 2-3 days.
